Verdict

Ed Vaughan has a tremendous strike rate with his runners at Gosforth Park, but while Primrose Valley is running at the peak of her powers it will be no easy task for her to defy top weight. Westhoughton has been a beaten favourite on his last two starts so we seek to oppose him with FLICKA'S BOY. Tony Coyle's gelding has performed with credit in three maidens and with the form of his latest start receiving a boost at York this week a handicap mark of 71 appears fair. Scarlet Bounty is another to make a first start in a handicap but Olivia Fallow has struggled to convert her form from maidens, though she kept on well in a similar race at Thirsk. Classic Flyer is yet to trouble the judge but he was a popular order on his latest outing at Ripon and he may be capable of more.
