In depth

Verdict

Jamil has had 40 career starts on the Flat and over hurdles though this will be his all-weather debut. He gained his sixth career victory at Catterick last month for which he's been raised 3lb. Habanero Star's only all-weather success came on Tapeta at Southwell while Sun Festival had been running well before scoring at Brighton. The latter is only up a pound and his rider claims 5lb so a quick follow-up looks a possibility though he was engaged in the 8.45 at Beverley last night. Quoteline Direct is on a long losing run but was well supported when runner-up at Wolverhampton while BRAES OF DOUNE very nearly lost his maiden tag at the ninth time of asking when beaten a neck at Ayr. The latter gets the vote.
