In depth

Verdict

Kevin Ryan has done well with his select all-weather string over the winter months and Zarjaz, an American-bred gelding, is one to take careful note of here, especially if there is solid money for the First Defence gelding. Velvet Vision shaped well when runner-up here on debut whilst Arch Gold's juvenile campaign, whilst not without promise by any means, suggested that he's expected to really come into his own at three. He's well respected but BOBBY K has already proved his versatility by winning on the Southwell Fibresand before running a better race when third at Lingfield in a well-contested novice stakes. He has to give weight away all round but has guaranteed fitness to his name, decent experience levels and seems to be progressing with each run.
