    Verdict

Arcalis should be the answer to this novices' hurdle and he is taken to score, with Terlan and Allez Scotia the pair most likely to chase him home. The selection hails from the all-conquering Howard Johnson yard and he is well-regarded by his trainer. He made a pleasing debut to his hurdling career at Ayr last time when beating Terlan and he should be capable of taking this race before going on to better things. Terlan has got a pull in the weights with our selection from his latest defeat, but he would have to improve significantly to reverse the placings as he was well beaten that day. He will certainly win races in this sphere, but he may have to play second fiddle to Arcalis again on this occasion. Allez Scotia is a fair sort and she looks to have decent place prospects, but it would be a major surprise if she didn't find a couple too good. The rest are a fairly moderate bunch, and for the winner we return to Arcalis.
