Verdict

Frilly Knickers hails from a stable worth keeping an eye on, and should be watched for a market move on debut, but PENNY QUEEN looks a safer conveyance for an investment, with Give a Lot boasting decent form, albeit returning after a long absence. A son of the successful jumps sire Roi de Rome from a winning family, Frilly Knickers should be watched closely in the market with trainer Tom Tate boasting a terrific strike rate from his small number of entries. Placed when a big price on his debut at Aintree, Give a Lot was placed next time at Uttoxeter, chasing home a decent type. He returns after a 6 month break, and although that form is nothing special, this looks a race lacking in quality and depth and he can be thereabouts if fit enough. Half sister to a hurdles winner, Penny Queen ran well to be second on her debut and can progress. A daughter of Nayef out of a Last Tycoon mare, she obviously didn't show the speed to match her pedigree, since she did not race on the Flat, but Penny Queen can rule in this finale.
