Verdict

Bertie Boru stayed on to make a winning reappearance over 2m4f at Stratford last month in a race in which NOBLE LEGEND was a well-beaten fifth. But Caroline Bailey's charge usually needs a couple of runs to put him straight and has finished third since at Wetherby. Probably something of a specialist at this intermediate trip, he could be a bit of value today on 7lb better terms and softer ground. Tolkeins Tango is interesting near the foot of the weights having blown away a few cobwebs with victory in a lesser contest at Exeter while Haydock third Midnight Appeal also enters the equation eased in class and distance. Listen Boy won on his return to action at Uttoxeter and remains unexposed while Dushrembrandt was second in the Cork Grand National on his latest start and can't be ignored.
