Verdict

Andrew Balding won this last year and Pivoine enters the fray in top form having landed a similar-class handicap at York when blinkered for the first time. He's penalised 5lb but has been raised 8lb in the future so looks well in. Adamant is also up 8lb for a comprehensive victory at Chelmsford where he was returning from a long break. Stylehunter is making good progress and was impressive at Goodwood. He has a penalty to overcome but still looks on a fair mark. MOUNTAIN ANGEL has been running well since landing a Class 4 handicap at Ascot in May and was unlucky in-running at Sandown. The rain will have aided his cause and he gets the nod. Beringer has been placed three times at this level since completing a double in June but is 15lb higher than his last victory.
