In depth

Verdict

Another top-class renewal of this six furlong heat and cases can be made for many of these. Vision Of Night has proved that there are still races to be won with him after a couple of near misses this term, and he may well be worth siding with again here. He has a near 1-in-3 strike-rate and is always going to be dangerous to rule out. Mugharreb is still open to improvement but he appeared to have few excuses at Ascot last time and has almost 4 lengths to make up with Vision Of night on that running. However, he was a game second in this race last year and is officially rated as an 8lb better horse. Indian Country is shaping into a very useful prospect and has any amount of improvement still to come. Firm ground seems to be the key to him and if he runs to the form of his Ascot outing, he will certainly be involved in the shake-up. Marika, Spencers Wood and Brevity also have a little to find which leaves Ashdown Express as one of the biggest dangers out of the bigger-priced horses and he would not have to find too much to figure strongly if he can make the most of his weight for age allowance.
