Verdict

Pistol Whipped, Rathhill and Gameface are all potentially-useful recruits from the point-to-point circuit worth a market check with the first two named representing last year’s winning yard. Dashel Drasher finished one place and a length-and-a-half ahead of Beaufort West over track and trip at the end of last month and has to go on the short-list. Umndeni was let down by his jumping at Chepstow in October but will no doubt have had plenty of schooling since. NORDIC COMBINED had Tegerek behind when staying on strongly at Lingfield last month. He’d also run well here the time before and the three-times Flat winner is improving fast over timber.
