Verdict

Three of the last four winners of this have carried a penalty to victory so the signs are good for Oscan, who landed his maiden at Leicester earlier in the month despite running green, and Harvard N Yale. Jeremy Noseda's colt justified short odds to beat today's rival Endowing at Newmarket last month, though the runner-up has been beaten since. Chepstow winner Cavaleiro is still heading in the right direction but, receiving 4lb, we like the look of PERFORMING POCKET. Beaten twice over 6f, George Baker's colt will enjoy this first attempt at a longer trip and can step up on earlier efforts to take this nice prize. Mysterious Man is stoutly-bred and Andrew Balding will have given him plenty of work - he may not win today and is definitely worth noting for future reference.
