Verdict

TOO TALL represents a stable in great form and Luca Cumani's runner is fancied to prevail at the main expense of Aboukir, Makhaaleb and Spinners End. The selection showed enough as a two-year-old to suggest that he would be a formidable opponent this season in handicaps, especially off an opening mark of 73. Having made 140,000 guineas as a foal, plenty is expected of this first foal of a classy mare and he is fancied to take the honours. Implication has been a model of consistency but ultimately a tad disappointing, certainly for backers who have stuck with him, whilst Mister Fantastic and Justonefortheroad give Nicky Vaughan a strong hand. Welsh Anthem tries the blinkers having been well-supported recently but the stable have been a bit quiet of late. Illusive Spirit was disappointing last time out at Yarmouth and although this mark may prove to be generous in time, it looks as if he is too immature at this stage to take advantage. Aboukir needs to bounce back to form after a modest return to the track, whilst Makhaaleb and Bouggie Daize have both shown enough to take a race but this looks competitive. Recession Proof and recent winner Spinners End must be of interest coming here in good form, however the most tentative of votes is given to Too Tall.
