In depth

Formwatch

Profluent (USA) Finished well ahead of Quistaquay at Warwick on Jan 13 (3m1f,soft) and is only marginally worse off today. Raised to a mark of 113 following 2 wins this season and now rated 120 (rider claims 7lbs today).

Old Rouvel (USA) Good effort to win at Kempton 12 days ago, only his second run in 20 months. He's been raised only 4lbs for that. Quickswood is only 7lbs better for being beaten 18 lengths that day. Trip and ground should be no problem.

Deymiar (IRE) See Wain Mountain. Before that he finished well behind Sau-Mynde at Kempton (3m,0.5f, god to soft/good in places). He is only 2lbs better off today for that effort. However, there is no doubt that on the best of his form he's entitled to run a good race here.

Sau-Mynde See Deymiar. On a line through Frosty Canyon, she's weighted to beat Profluent. 9lbs higher than her last win but is still capable of running a decent race.

Lord of Love Stay this trip acts on heavy. Well behind Old Rouvel at Kempton, he was a decent juvenile hurdler. Handicapper has at least given him a bit more of a chance now.

Quickswood (IRE) Has a bit to find with Old Rouvel on their Kempton run. Didn't really take to chasing earlier this season. Handicapped to just about the best of his hurdles form.

Benick (IRE) Stays well and likes give in the ground. On about the right mark on the balance of his form.

Supreme Genotin (IRE) Has a long absence and no recent form to overcome.

Christy's Pride (IRE) Showed improved form to win at Fontwell on Jan 23 (2m6.5f, soft/heavy). She'd been absent before that so is entitled to improve although that was not a strong event. Suggested at Fontwell that she'd stay further.

Quistaquay Finished behind Profluent last time. Before that was a good 4th behind Go Ballistic at Cheltenham (3m0.5f,soft). Doesn't appear to be particularly well handicapped.

Wain Mountain A very good second to Garruth last time when upped in trip (3m,0.5f,heavy) with Deymiar well behind (same terms today). Flashed his tail under pressure that day but kept on well enough. A reproduction of that effort would give him a good chance here.

Wontcostalotbut The only course and distance winner in the race, he has run decent races off this mark. Not out of it.
