In depth

Verdict

The first of four-successive maidens on the card is hard to weigh up so watch the betting, but Baizically is suggested ahead of Maximix and Mulaazem. The selection's credentials are that he cost 70,000 guineas and is well-related, but the betting will tell us more. Maximix catches the eye as he is by Linamix and cost 100,000 guineas, while Mulaazem is out of a mare that won the 1,000 Guineas. A number of the others have likeable breeding, including Christmas Player, Picacho, Green Lemon and Zaif, but it is hard to gauge just how good any of them might be. Of those to have run, Street Warrior, who was beaten a short head in a Redcar maiden after being slowly away, is respected, but the tentative vote goes to Baizically, but watch the betting for clues.
