In depth

Verdict

Zizaneur won a minor contest in France in the summer and was making his debut for new connections when second at Ludlow. But he’s already run eight times over hurdles so lacks the scope of CHRISTOPHER WOOD, who showed a turn of foot befitting of a winning miler when landing the odds at Fontwell with plenty in hand. Faldo made a promising start behind an odds-on favourite at Warwick and is a likely improver but Fresno Emery had his limitations exposed at Ascot and Brandy James showed only modest form in the autumn.
