Irish Thistle has been running well though a longer trip would be preferable. Royal Sam, a winner between the flags, ran very well behind Captain Arceus at Fairyhouse but has something to find with You Must Know Me on that form as the latter started odds-on for his bumper debut and only just failed to cope with the winner. MAGIC SPEAR went to Leopardstown in January for his debut and attracted support but couldn't hold the well-backed favourite Ted Beale. The pair finished a distance clear of the remainder and that form should be good enough for this.
