In depth

Verdict

Just seven runners here, three of them from Ballydoyle. The newcomer African is by Dubawi out of a Group 3 winner and has a Racing Post Trophy entry. The Eagle attracted good support on his debut in the race won by Vociferous Marina at the Curragh but never got into it and the runner-up that day, FINN MCCOOL, will take some beating. He didn't get the best of runs before staying on and his earlier run in the National Stakes suggests better is expected. The Curragh winner is trained by Jim Bolger, who has the early Derby entry Clongowes entered here and the son of New Approach is one to keep an eye on for the future.
