Verdict

After her third place in the Phoenix Stakes, it's difficult to know why Lottie Dod is still a maiden and she didn't show much dash on her reappearance though it was obvious from the betting she needed the run. ILLUSTRATE was facing quick ground for the first time at the Curragh a couple of weeks ago and ran very well behind the useful Royal Empress. He's a late-maturing type who looks ready to gain his first success. Silver Lightening looked ready to win soon after a very good run at Fairyhouse but was very disappointing at Roscommon five days later though it could have come too soon. Inkerman didn't get the clearest of runs when strongly fancied at Roscommon and looks best of the remainder.
