In depth

Verdict

The superbly-bred Montjeu colt Eagle Canyon has been a major disappointment though he should have come on for his run behind Coprah at the Curragh earlier this month where Hurricane Twister, who has since done better at Cork when he had Catalpa Sail well beaten, was a long way behind. EXPIRE drops back to the minimum trip after leading for most of the way over 6f at Navan last week where he was just touched off by Nidian. Red Army Blues was three lengths back in fifth and is unlikely to reverse the form with Paul Deegan's charge, who can take this.
