Bentham has won three bumpers, all on good ground, but hasn't done as well on soft going. BLACKBOW won a point in 2017 before completing a double in bumpers when landing a Grade 2 at Leopardstown a year later. He finished close up in the championship bumpers at Cheltenham and Punchestown last year and if ready after a long break should be up to winning this. Cavalry Master was always going well when landing a KIlbeggan bumper in June and looks a nice prospect while The Very Man, a winning point-to-pointer and bumper, was there with every chance when falling at the last on his hurdling bow at Punchestown. J P McManus has four entries with Barry Geraghty choosing You Can Call Me Al, who he was on board when a close fourth in a big field over the course and distance in February. Joseph O'Brien won this last year so Embittered looks a real threat after a close fourth in the championship bumper at Punchestown in May.
