In depth

Verdict

Tommy G drops back in trip after placing at Newcastle recently but his only previous win on Turf came over 7f. Jacob's Pillow is fit from the all-weather and went close over track and trip in October. He’s preferred to the returning Geoff Potts but a chance is taken on the veteran SILVANUS. The latter should be sharper for recent outings at Wolverhampton and Paul Midgley’s charge won off a 7lb higher mark over course and distance last year. Laughton tumbled down the weights last season and had a wind operation over the winter.
