Lascar de Ferbet and Ideal du Bois Beury have solid place claims on recent form but the John Wemes-trained Ornella Speed won with any amount in hand on her return at Hexham last week and is fancied to follow up under a 7lb penalty. Goodbadindiferent has claims on the form shown when winning at Perth in June but has failed to sparkle since then and may need some help from the handicapper. Clouding Over made an encouraging return behind the in-from Parisienne Gale at Kelso earlier this month and has to be respected on that evidence, while Word Gets Around gave little sign for optimism on his reappearance at Kelso last month and may be best watched at present. Lascar de Ferbet has run well off today's mark in his last two starts and has to be respected but has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip, while Ideal du Bois Beury ran one of his better races at Hexham recently but is on a long losing sequence and may not be one to trust implicitly. Ornella Speed could hardly have been more impressive last time though and is taken to follow up on today's faster ground.
