In depth

Verdict

Bay Mirage was the most expensive of these at the sales and with Kevin Ryan's charge making more appeal once handicapping, we take POPLAR CLOSE to get off the mark at the fourth time of asking. David O'Meara's filly has been strongly fancied on two visits to Beverley and she has been guilty of running into one too good on each occasion. Livella Fella was second in a similar race over course and distance and the winner of that contest obliged in a better race at Chester last weekend. View The Moon was a very cheap purchase by the stable's lofty standards and his pedigree suggests that anything achieved this year would be a bonus.
