In depth

Verdict

Platinum Charmer put up a much-improved performance to win at Warwick last time, and as that was an apprentice handicap he escapes a penalty here so is fancied to follow up. Patricia Philomena has been off the course for a long time, but is certainly on a reasonable mark on her old form and is one to be wary of, especially if she attracts support in the market. Colway Ritz wasn't disgraced at Catterick last time, but has been given a chance by the handicapper, who has dropped him three pounds for this race. Beverley scorer Sir Night can also be given a chance, but Platinum Charmer is clearly well in at these weights, hails from a stable in great form and we take him to follow up.
