Verdict

Den Maschine is an interesting runner for Kevin Ryan who doesn't send many into this sphere (25% strike-rate at Musselburgh when he does though) however this may lie between the proven winners Saveiro and WAVE POWER, and it is the last-named who is narrowly preferred. Howard Johnson's gelding has his first start for the yard today having been picked up from John Kiely's yard over in Ireland. He was a convincing winner of a Leopardstown bumper and this doesn't look likely to be as strong a race. Saveiro is also penalised for his Catterick win. He had shown ability the time before at this track and was an emphatic winner, however the form is not rock solid at all. Moscow Mischief is a potential improver after she was not beaten far here last time. That race won by Hunters Belt looks quite strong and it would be no surprise to see her improve further today. The only other horse to focus on is Carnival Fair; Richard Fahey's filly didn¿t cost a packet but her dam is quite well-related and she cannot be too readily dismissed. A decent contest to finish with, and Wave Power can put in another electric performance.
