In depth

Verdict

Violent Velocity ran out an easy winner at Beverley last time and a 6lb penalty may not prevent him from making another bold bid, while Mangham signalled his long losing run may be coming to an end when third at Carlisle last time. Shunkawakhan had Spread Boy behind at Ayr last week, while Ra Junior and Amno Dancer have been placed here lately, but in an open contest the vote goes to MILITARY CALL. He won over C&D in August and will have come on for his recent pipe-opener here a fortnight ago.
