Mary Gray would have claims on the pick of her form but Mark Johnston's filly has not shown enough this term to merit support here and a safer bet looks to be recent course and distance winner Crathorne, who is taken to defy his 3lb rise with Kyle of Lochalsh rated the best of the rest. Kyle of Lochalsh would have a chance on the pick of his form and comes from a yard in good form at present but has given little cause for optimism of late, while Grandma's Girl disappointed over hurdles over the winter and may need the run on her return to the flat. Awaken is entitled to come on for her reappearance but needs to, while Purple Dancer may want a softer surface to show his best form. A safer bet then looks to be Crathorne, who has an obvious chance of following up his recent course and distance success.
