        Verdict

        The USA generally win this and have a very strong hand this time around. DR. SCHIVEL is already a dual Grade 1 winner and almost made it three when beaten a nose in the Breeders' Cup Sprint at Del Mar. He ran poorly at Santa Anita on Boxing Day but that wasn't his form. Drain The Clock is another winner at the highest level having landed the Woody Stephens at Belmont though that was over 7f. Wondrwherecraigis is a seven-times winner though not at this level but Red Le Zele, runner-up a year ago, has been aimed at going one better having had a prep run over a trip too far at Tokyo. Meraas has done superbly since leaving Mark Johnston though faces much tougher opposition.
