Verdict

It's back to the Turf for this and Godolphin look to have a very strong hand, particularly with ALKIMOS, who gets the vote. Runner-up to Pisco Sour in the Group 3 Hampton Court Stakes at Ascot when trained by Luca Cumani, he's been purchased with the Carnival in mind and should be forward enough to make a winning start. Songcraft also represents Godolphin and he's certain to improve from his two narrow victories in France but Cumani's Summit Surge will surely need the run after an absence of 14 months. The very lightly-raced Rostrum is yet another Godolphin entry and he's shown enough to suggest he's not making up the numbers. Mikhail Glinka is a classy performer at his best though this may be on the short side nowadays but George Baker will have Belgian Bill primed to run the race of his life and the progressive colt looks nicely handicapped.
