In depth

Verdict

Charlie Appleby has four entries and William Buick, who usually chooses correctly, has gone for Wootton. A Group 3 winner at Longchamp last April, he made a very pleasing comeback in a Group 2 here last month and will be all the better for the run. Godolphin are also represented by Dream Castle, who had no problems completing a double at Group 2/3 level in January and looks certain to get into contention. With his stable in cracking form, CENTURY DREAM (NAP) looks the one to be on. He's progressed from smart handicapper into a genuine top-grade performer as he proved when a close third to Roaring Lion in the QE II at Ascot in October. A recent run here will have blown away the cobwebs and he can gain his first top-level victory. Richard Fahey sends Forest Ranger over and he's won first time out in all of his three seasons though he looks held by the selection on a line through Roaring Lion.
