Verdict

As with many of the big races here, this looks a battle between Mike De Kock and Godolphin. The brilliant South African mare IGUGU started 4/7 when making her eagerly awaited debut here a fortnight ago but was set an impossible task by Christophe Soumillon and it's no shock to see regular partner Antony Delpech on board this time. She was forced into a battle upfront from the start with Saeed Bin Suroor's Dark Orchid and it was no surprise when the latter's patiently ridden stablemate Sajjhaa swept past for a comfortable victory. Compensation awaits Mike De Kock's mare this time though stablemates The Apache and Master Of Hounds have enough strong form in the locker to be seriously considered, especially the latter, who just beat Godolphin's City Style in this a year ago. Sharestan may have been a bit unfortunate behind The Apache last time and looks best of the remainder.
