In depth

Verdict

Peter Bowen has farmed similar races here in the past but Earthmoves has been very disappointing since a third at Newton Abbot in July. Ballycrystal will have benefited from last month’s run at Southwell and Candy Burg is now three from three over fences after his latest win at Newton Abbot. Not A Role Model was fourth in the Summer Plate here in July but is a pound higher on his return and Mont Royale failed to cope with an 8lb rise at Cartmel after scoring at Uttoxeter. BUSTER THOMAS was a progressive sort in the spring, winning at Wincanton and finished third over 3m at Kempton. His fitness will have to be taken on trust but he is still on a decent mark and is among the least exposed of these. Chebsey Beau also warrants a mention and Jovial Joey has found his form again and is another who could figure.
