In depth

Verdict

None of the newcomers make much appeal on breeding so this looks a good opportunity for MAGNIFIQUE ETOILE to open his account. His fourth in a valuable bumper at Doncaster in March was a cracking effort and he followed that up with a close second at Chepstow. That form looks far superior to his rivals, the best of which may be penalised Wincanton winner Shinko Moon. Future Dominion showed some promise at Bangor last month but Foxinthecots will have to improve on May's C&D second if he is to go one better today.
