Verdict

Southwell winner Abbreviate was odds-on to defy a penalty at Leicester next time but could manage third behind Handsome Sam. The latter's trainer, Alan King, should have a good idea where he stands with TRAVERTINE in this. The French import looked in need of the experience when a beaten favourite at Huntingdon earlier this month and better is expected here. This is quite competitive, however, with bumper winner Two Jabs arriving off the back of a win on the Flat at Kempton and Vivas dropping down a grade after his fourth at Ascot. Sakhee's City had decent form in bumpers last season but hasn't raced since disappointing on the Flat at Thirsk in May.
