In depth

Verdict

A moderate contest to get the card underway with the top weight Highbank having a rating of just 88. He, along with Divulge, Breathtaking View and Comfortable Call look the ones to concentrate on and with the booking of Mick Fitzgerald catching the eye for the latter, he gets the vote. The selection, a winner here back in April, is closely matched on earlier form with Highbank, but he is unexposed over this trip over timber, and as he stayed a 16-furlongs on the flat, there is every reason to believe he should improve for this stiffer test. Mary Reveley, who had three entered in this at the five-days, relies on Highbank, although relies probably isn't the right word in his case as he has never been the most reliable of animals. However, if on a going day, he is more than capable. Divulge didn't look to go through with his effort at Huntingdon last time, despite wearing the sheepskin cheekpieces and is one to have reservations about, so the main danger could come from Breathtaking View, who takes a drop in class. He ran well for a long way behind the useful Sh Boom at Huntingdon back in March and a reproduction of that effort would see him taking a hand at this level.
