Verdict

SILKSTONE finished a respectable second at Huntingdon on last month’s hurdling debut despite looking less than fluent over the obstacles. He’ll know more today and won on soft ground on the Flat. Glorious Dane has switched yards since his hurdling bow at Aintree back in June and could go well but others arriving from the Flat make more appeal. Lord Lamington is the highest rated on the level and preferred to stablemate Kings Royal Hussar but Defining Battle has joined Dan Skelton since winning on the Flat in Ireland and is another to consider along with Philip Hobbs’ new inmate Zoffee.
