Verdict

The Newest One is a half-brother to the stable’s top-class The New One and made a very promising start when fourth in a Cheltenham bumper. He looks sure to win races but 2m around here may not be enough of a stamina test so WINDS OF FIRE is preferred on this occasion. A useful stayer on the Flat, the latter wasn’t given a hard time behind a couple of potentially-decent novices when third at Hereford. Southwell third Garry Clermont is preferred to stablemate Apache Creek and also Bourbon Borderline while Rock On Tiger and Lough Har have been looking one-paced.
