In depth

Verdict

The ground could be the key to this contest, and with the threat of more rain to soften things up we take Cowboyboots to outstay Tribal Dancer, with Carryonharry respected. The selection was a very easy winner over this sort of trip at Fontwell last time, his third win at that track. That is not to say that he won't be effective here though. He jumps well, stays well and acts with cut, so with everything in his favour he can defy a penalty to score. Tribal Dancer receives a handy 5lb from the selection and was a course and distance winner in May. His recent Towcester reappearance offered some encouragement and he will come on for that, but his form with cut is generally worse than when the ground is good and that may prove his undoing. Of the remainder, Carryonharry comes from the in-form Pipe yard and is well below his last winning mark. However, he has been so for his last couple of starts and not shown too much, so we will oppose him once more and stick with Cowboyboots to take the prize.
