Verdict

PEARL OF THE WEST won twice over 1m4f on the Flat in Ireland last year. She was fancied for a Listed race at Galway in September but finished last, though could be too classy for these with her fillies’ allowance if she takes to hurdles. Pastoral Music was no match for the useful Silver Concorde at Musselburgh but is entitled to improve for the experience. Lord Napier shaped with promise at Kelso and he probably has more scope than the likes of Awake At Midnight and Shalakar.
