Verdict

Mulkev Prince is most effective from the front and should be able to dominate in this small field so gets the vote in a tight betting heat. The David Pearson-trained gelding comes here in top form having made all over this trip at Leicester earlier in the month and can confirm the placings with Our Tommy, who was beaten just under ten lengths in fifth. The selection, who goes particularly well for today's amateur rider, remains well treated on his old form despite a subsequent 9lb rise and is hard to oppose in his current form. Judaic Ways was successful over three miles here in January and ran well off his revised mark when third on a return visit the following month with Suspendid well behind. However, this drop back in trip is not in his favour and he could find himself outpaced if, as expected, the selection sets a strong gallop.
