In depth

Verdict

The betting suggested PILOT WINGS could make a winning debut for Tony Carroll’s yard and he duly returned a winning favourite in an apprentices’ race at Wolverhampton. Unpenalised for that success, he can go in again. Subliminal also arrives on the back of a victory having scored over track and trip and is 3lb higher today while both Harbour Quay and Bayston Hill were placed over today’s distance last time though the latter returns from a lay-off. Avorisk Et Perils has something to prove over this far while Dangerous Ends never troubled the winner when second over 1m4f last time but War Princess has more scope now handicapping.
