Verdict

Tenacestream ran on well over course and distance when making a winning debut in a maiden last month and John Best's gelding has to be respected but a handicap mark of 77 looks a shade high on only his second start and preference is for EDGEWATER, who gets the vote over Zubova. Michael Attwater's filly deserves to get her head in front having found one too good in each of her last three starts but she has been a beaten favourite in her last four outings and may once again have to settle for minor honours. David Evans continues to have plenty of winners and his representative, Transfixed, cannot be discounted but is probably better over seven furlongs. Future Regime remains a maiden after five outings and has given little sign of encouragement with a bigger threat likely to come from Memorandum. Roger Charlton's filly is open to improvement after just four starts but she was all out when landing her maiden here over the minimum trip last month and has yet to prove that she stays six furlongs. There are no doubts on that score with Edgewater though and John Akehurst's colt can resume winning ways having looked a little one paced over seven furlongs at Kempton at the beginning of the month.
