In depth

Verdict

Baytown Flyer showed enough improved form six days ago to warrant support over Tiny Tim and Spiders Web. Philip McEntee's four-year-old was only beaten in a photo at Southwell six days ago, proving that she acts on fibresand, but she has run well here before in the past. She is not one to go overboard about but has a top jockey in the plate and will not mind the step up in trip. Tiny Tim is still a maiden but has been in fair form since an extended break, and may play a part as well. He might be better over seven furlongs, but should at least hold Tojoneski on recent form. Spiders Web has run here six times from only eight career starts, but has been tried over a variety of trips and cannot be confidently followed until settling down to an optimum distance. Platinum Boy looks devoid of pace so the drop back in distance is a big worry, and all in all, Baytown Flyer should just have the edge.
