Quite a number of these are exposed and one of them is Thurlestone Rock, who goes well at this trip but who took a 15lb rise on the autumn, and despite a reduction of 2lb for this, the best he can really hope for is a place. The same can probably be said of Desert Spirit, who came late to win here over 7f recently, but that having been recognised by the handicapper, he now looks to be held at the moment. Captain Hardy is now 10lbs better off with Desert Spirit for a four length beating in that race and his Wolverhampton win last time shows that he is in good heart. With that is mind he is taken to reverse the placings and indeed is our selection here. Top weight Aventura steps up from the minimum trip and has shown enough speed to suggest that he is not without a chance despite the welter burden.
