In depth

Verdict

Blakeset is hard to peg back in these type of events and is fancied to land the hat trick here; Sounds Lucky, Legal Set and Type One look best of the rest. David Barron's eight-year-old has won his last two starts at Southwell and Wolverhampton, and is again well suited by the weights of this race. He likes nothing more than to dominate in this grade and is fancied to make all again here. Sounds Lucky ran reasonably well at Hamilton last time, but is much better on this surface and has good claims on his handicap second over course and distance last month, so Nick Littmoden's gelding looks to be the main danger to the selection. Legal Set won a seven furlong claimer here in February, and would have a decent chance on that form, although he has run well below that on his last two starts. Type One has been absent since October but has a fair chance at these weights and it would be no surprise if Terry Mills' five-year-old is fit enough to run well on his reappearance.
