In depth

Verdict

Handicap debutants Scottish Affair and Orangeleg should be monitored closely but JOSIAH BARTLETT is the suggestion. Blinkers did the trick for the McEntee gelding who came fast and late to get the better of the gambled on Elsie Jo over seven furlongs. The runner-up didn't do that much for the form next time but nothing should be taken away from Josiah Bartlett who could prove even more effective at this longer trip. Few trainers are in better form than Stuart Williams at present and Orangeleg has to be of keen interest with Luke Morris up for his handicap bow. Scottish Affair has shown up slightly better in his three qualifying runs and also hails from a yard that has been amongst the winners and support for either would be worth noting. It's difficult to know what to expect from them at this stage though which is why we'll stick with Josiah Bartlett for the time being.
