      Verdict

A tricky opening contest can go to Dawn Sky, who has gone close in each of his four previous outings and deserves a change of fortune; Yossi is an obvious threat, while the well-bred newcomer Propaganda is one to keep tabs on as she gains in experience. Aquamarine Beauty also makes appeal on breeding but is likely to need the outing. So, despite representing a top yard, she is probably best watched. Propaganda is related to several winners and, as Luca Cumani is never one to rush with preparations, it would not be the end of the world if this daughter of Sadler's Wells were to find a few too good on this occasion. She was an expensive purchase, though. And a solid market move would be dangerous to ignore. Yossi has plenty of experience and has been mainly consistent. However, his limitations are beginning to show and he is not one to be jumping overboard with at this stage of his development. A mark of 80 looks high for what he has achieved, so it is no surprise to see him back in maiden company. In truth, Dawn Sky also looks harshly treated on his current mark, but he has a likeable attitude and, assuming the handicapper has done his job to the letter, Michael Jarvis' charge just edges the vote.
