    Verdict

The Major returned a losing favourite over a mile last time but had gone close over today’s trip earlier. By contrast, Rain In The Face had been placed over a mile before well beaten over 1m2f at Bath. Pastoral Music was second over a longer distance at Pontefract and goes handicapping for the first time today along with HELLAVASHOCK. The latter never threatened at Newmarket last week but improvement is expected from Giles Bravery’s charge on only his third start and he gets the nod.
