Verdict

Having won an amateur riders' claimer on his first start since August over course and distance last week, Nick Littmoden's Sounds Lucky will be a popular choice to follow up. Emma Littmoden, who rode then, again takes the ride and from stall one his claim is an obvious one even in this better company. However, we just prefer the claims of On The Trial. Admittedly David Chapman's gelding disappointed behind Dunedin Rascal here last week but the son of Catrail had plenty of use made of him that day which does not suit horses at the track and, with the six-year-old likely to be ridden with more restraint today, he looks worth another chance off just a 3lb higher mark than when scoring at Wolverhampton previously. The booking of leading amateur Carol Williams is another plus. Topweight Manicani still looks plenty high enough in the weights judged by his recent effort behind Border Edge and a bigger danger to the selection may be Michael Wigham's Illusive, who can race off the same mark as when a close third to Roy McAvoy on Wednesday. Amelia and Chorus towards the bottom end of the handicap are others worthy of a mention but should not be good enough to beat the selection if he runs to his best form.
