In depth

Verdict

Kerashan, Ofaraby and Red Spell are the three to concentrate on here and the vote is given to Kerashan. The selection did not handle the soft ground at Goodwood last time but his previous second behind Danehill Willy at Newmarket marks him out as the one to beat today. He remains unexposed and although he may do better over further in time we will put him forward as the one to beat. Ofaraby looks on good terms with himself at present and he ran well in a competitive handicap at York when fourth behind Realism. This looks easier and this course and distance winner will not be far away at the finish. Red Spell was a good second behind Nero's Return at Goodwood last time but this step-up in trip is not sure to suit and for that reason he is passed over. Clipperdown could go well at a price as the application of a tongue tie brought about some improvement for him last time at Yarmouth when he was second behind Clueless. However, Kerashan is put forward as our selection.
