Verdict

Although at first glance appearing to have the look of a competitive contest, Sir Mark Prescott's Tempsford may still be unexposed enough to prevail, ahead of Bahlino and Maystock. The Newmarket trainer is a past master at lining them up to exploit a lenient mark in handicaps and Tempsford appears to be no exception. Unplaced in three outings as a juvenile, the son of Bering was given a rating of just 58 when stepped up to a mile and a half on his Wolverhampton return, and made no mistake. Turned out carrying a penalty here, providing he is over his exertions of four days ago, a follow-up looks very much on the cards. Bahlino has the assistance of Kieren Fallon who was on board for his gutsy win at Beverley the time before last. he never got in a blow under Pat Eddery when carrying a penalty at Newmarket but is a live danger here along with Maystock who ran well on her Polytrack debut recently. she does not always look the most straightforward of rides though and Tempsford is a much more reliable proposition.
